After the death of 17 people in the firing on February 14 in the Florida School in America, the protest has increased by the students. On Thursday, over one lakh students carried out protest march in 22 cities. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump met the family members of deceased children.
Trump said, “Before giving a gun, a person’s mental condition and background must be checked. Teachers should be given trainings to keep arms. By doing so, the firing incidents in the country will stop. Any person above 18 years of age can buy weapons in the country. This age limit should be done 21 years.”
The data reveals that 239 school firing incidents have already occurred from year 2012 to 2018. Around 438 people lost their lives in these incidents. Since January, 18 cases of firing in schools came to light.
After the 2001 war in America, there has been a surge in arms. In America, people have more than 300 million guns.
In US, 1.5 million people were fired from year 1968 to 2011. Over 13,000 people were killed in 2015 and 92% of the dead were 15 to 24 years old.
