Following heavy rainfall in eastern Uganda, more than 30 people have been killed, primarily due to landslides. The death toll will probably rise, as the government intensifies its search operations near the highly affected Mount Elgon area. Till now 34 dead bodies have been recovered. Landslides in the same region in Bududa killed more than 300 people in 2010.
