MIM MLA from Aurangabad Imtiyaz Jaleel said it is deplorable that a person who holds the post of Chief Minister claims that the Owaisi brothers will have to flee the country if the BJP is voted to power in Telangana.

“Why should the Owaisi brothers leave the country just because the BJP takes the rein of the state,” he asked.

The UP should first focus on his constituency and state. In his own constituency of Gorakhpur 150 children died in a year when he could not provide oxygen to the hospitals. Asked whether Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi does not use filthy language and call Prime Minister Narendra Modi a chaiwala, Jaleel replied that Mr Modi himself said that he was once a chaiwala and Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi was simply saying that Mr Modi has to behave like a Prime Minister and should keep the dignity of the post.

Mr Jaleel asked how a political party could ask another to refrain from electoral politics. The Congress was raising objections on the MIM contesting the Assembly elections.

Replying on Congress president Rahul Gandhi branding the MIM as the ‘C’ team of the BJP, he thanked the Congress, saying, “Earlier, it was describing the MIM as the ‘B’ team; now, we have come down to a step,” he said. “The Congress wants the MIM to refrain from politics so that it can usurp the votes of Muslims. The Congress had treated Muslims as its property,” he said.

On renaming Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar, Mr Jaleel said that every city has a history behind its name and you cannot change history by renaming the city.
