If you are not finding time to exercise and are not able to include healthy foods in your daily diet, an ever expanding waistline is going to be the ultimate result. If this is what you have been facing for quite some time, then apple cider vinegar is the natural drink that can come to your rescue, and help you cut down on fat.
Apple cider vinegar is a common form of vinegar and has many health benefits, including weight loss. It contains an active ingredient called acetic acid, which according to various studies, helps prevent a person from gaining body fat.
‘This happens because the compound reduces the storage of fat, suppresses appetite, and improves metabolism,’ says Tanisha Mehta, a nutritionist with Columbia Asia Hospital in Bangalore.
‘It not only induces weight loss but also boosts the metabolic rate, keeps your intestine healthy and keeps the body fat especially visceral fat and sugars in check,’ Tanisha adds.

However, apart from weight loss, it has other benefits too.
According to a study, if apple cider vinegar is taken before your main meals, it helps in reducing insulin levels. The antiglycemic effect of apple cider vinegar is very beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes if consumed on a regular basis.
‘It helps in reducing cholesterol levels due to the presence of acetic acid which fights bad cholesterol,’ says Priyannka Aashu Singh, who is a nutritionist with the health app Portea Medical, and is based in Bangalore.
Some studies have suggested that women who regularly consumed apple cider vinegar showed an improvement in the symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). This is possibly because of its insulin lowering effect as one of the major reasons for PCOS is insulin resistance.
Singh also advises massaging apple cider vinegar on stretch marks to help reducing their size and appearance.

It helps fix your tummy woes, from upset stomach to bacterial infections to intestinal spasms. Just mix one or two tablespoons into water and sip it.
Germ fighting apple cider vinegar helps relieve a sore throat. Most germs are unable to survive in the acidic environment of vinegar.
Singh advises mixing 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup warm water and gargle every hour or two.
Potassium in apple cider vinegar thins down the mucus and acetic acid prevents germ growth. So the next time you are stuck with a cold, grab this elixir.
Apple cider vinegar is known to be good for skin problems too because of its antibacterial properties.
It acts as an antidote for people experiencing fatigue, tiredness and lethargy.
Apple cider vinegar can also be used to treat leg cramps which are caused due to low potassium levels.
