India will host the G-20 summit in 2022, a year when India will also complete 75 years of independence.
Speaking at the ongoing G-20 summit in Argentina, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he had requested Italy if it can host the summit in 2021 and allow India to host the G-20 countries for their annual summit in 2022.
“It’s India’s 75th Independence Day in 2022 and we had requested Italy if we can get 2022 instead of 2021 (for hosting G-20 summit). They accepted our request, others accepted it too,” Modi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
