Confirming this to the media, Moon’s special envoy Chung Eui Yong said the summit is planned to hold high-level negotiations.

Both leaders will also review the implementation of the Inter Korean Summit Agreement signed on the first meeting in Panmunjom on April 27 this year.

“The countries agreed to review the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration and discuss the future direction of its implementation, and to discuss practical ways to establish lasting peace and ensure joint prosperity on the Korean Peninsula, especially de-nuclearize the Korean Peninsula,” he said.

End to cold war

North and South Korea have been on cold war since 1945, which ended up in an open warfare in 1950. Since then both nations have had bitter relations.

The first big attempt to end the tension between the two countries was made on April 27 in the First Inter-Korean Meet 2018.

The second attempt was made on May 26 in the Second Inter-Korean Meet 2018.
