The legendary leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee got admitted to AIIMS on June 11, with a kidney tract infection and chest congestion. On Thursday, the former 93 year old former PM, died shortly after 5 pm. A press release from AIIMS, confirmed his death. A three-time prime minister, Mr Vajpayee had retired from public life after his health turned frail. The central government announced a seven-day national mourning as a mark of respect to the former prime minister. The national flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India, during this period. The former PM will recieve a state funeral, which will held in Delhi on today.
