Oscar 2018 Best Moment
Movie lovers around the world wait for this highly prestigious event whole year to hear their favourite star’s name after the line ‘and the Oscar goes to…’ Not just that, the Oscars red carpet is the mecca of fashion and the greatest opportunity for international stars to look their fashionable best and emerge as a global fashion icon amid roaring speculations and judgement by fans and fashion police. Every year, the Oscars red carpet sees a wonderful mix of vivid fashion statements. Talking about statements, where there is Jennifer Lawrence, their will be something quirky to look forward to.
Deemed as the award show darling, Jennifer Lawrence made people’s hearts’ skip a beat with her stunning entry at the Oscars in a glittery black and gold Dior gown. But what made all eyes pop was her struggle to find her seat.
Seems like Jenn made the best use of complimentary wine, as she was seen rushing to grab her seat for the show. Known for her extremely candid demeanor and often letting loose attitude, Jenn this time was snapped with a wine glass clutched in her hand, briskly yanking her magnificent gown, as she climbed over chairs and struggled to find her seat.
Well, that is J Law for you. Unabashedly real, being the ultimate diva she is.
The ‘Passengers’ actor does not have a nomination this year, but that couldn’t stop her from grabbing all the attention of the paps and fans alike.
Even on the red carpet, the actress was seen pulling off a typical J Law feel, as she stretched her hands pretending to fly, which left the guests and paps ‘ROFL’ing.
The Oscars 2018 were held on March 4th at the Dolby Theater and Highland Center.
Vadakkunathan Temple, Thrissur
Vadakkunnathan Temple is one of the oldest and largest Shiva temples in Kerala. This temple is a classic example of Kerala’s special style of architecture, with beautiful, intricately carved wooden vignettes ornamenting the shrines and koothambalam. There are also 17th century murals still on the walls that bring stories from the Mahabharata to life.
In Vadakkunnathan, Shiva is worshipped in the form of a large Shiva linga. However, worshippers can no longer see the linga as it is now covered with a mound of ghee that has been formed by years of abhishekam performed over the linga. Pilgrims are given the ghee as prasadam, and it is said to have miraculous healing powers. The 13 foot mountain of ghee with crescents and serpents on top of it is said to be a symbol of Shiva’s abode – Mount Kailas.
Outside, Lord Ganesha is found facing the temple kitchen. Pilgrims offer Him appams to please Him. In return, this Mahaganapathi leads them down the path to wealth and prosperity.
The main deity is Shiva in the form of a large lingam now covered by an enormous mound of ghee. Other deities in the verandah and outer temple include Parvati, Rama, Ganesha, Krishna, Nandikeshwara (Shiva’s bull vahana), Parashurama, Simhodara, Ayyappa, Vettekkaran (Shiva as a hunter), and Adi Shankaracharya.
Hindu Gods married to teach moral values
It is true that God is often depicted with a spouse in our traditional stories. However, on a deeper philosophical level, the Supreme Being and the Gods are neither male nor female and are therefore not married. In popular, village Hinduism God is represented as male, and God’s energy, or Shakti, is personified as His spouse-for example, Vishnu and Lakshmi. God is everywhere seen as the beloved, divine couple.
Hindus who understand the higher philosophy seek to find God on the inside while also worshiping God in the temples. Simple folk strive to be like a God, or like a Goddess. These tales, called Puranas, have long been the basis of dance, plays and storytelling around the fire in the homes to children as they are growing up.
The Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple
The Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is one of the eight important Maha Punya kshetrams (sacred places) in India. The eight places where Lord Vishnu manifested himself include:
• Sri Rangam
• Srimushnam
• Naimisam
• Pushkaram
• Salagamdri
• Thothadri*
• Narayanasramam
• Venkatadri
*Thotadri is said to be the present Mangalagiri.
The Mangalagiri temple has a stone pillar with a Telugu inscription. It dates back to 1520 AD. Another stone near the temple of Garudalvar has inscriptions on all four sides recording the grants during the reign of Sadasiva Raya of Vijayanagara Empire 1538 AD. The gopuram in the Temple at the foot of the hill was erected by Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Nayudu in 1807-1809.
Mangalagiri was initially under the rule of Golkonda Nawabs. Later, it came under Hyder Ali.
The annual Brahmotsavam is very important festival for Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. It is believed that Dharmaraja, on the advice of Lord Krishna, began the inaugural celebrations.

Where to go in November and how to get travel visa on an Indian passport
November is among the best months to travel to some of the world’s most beautiful countries. And if you hold an Indian passport, chances are that it is shoulder season in some of these countries.
You can avoid the mad rush of New Year revellers that countries deal with in December; especially in the tropics. And if you’re choosing Europe as your go-to destination, the fall crowd too will have dissipated in November.
But where to go in November? Try these four countries to visit in November this year. What’s even better is Indian passport holders either get visa on arrival or can travel visa-free to all of these countries; so you can count out one of the major travel hassles: getting a visa.
We tell you why you should choose the following countries for your November travel plans and break down the visa process for you if you hold an Indian passport.
INDONESIA
VISA: Indian passport holders don’t need to get a tourist visa if you’re staying in Indonesia up to 30 days.
WHY GO: Indonesia is home to some of the world’s best beaches and stunning islands. The archipelago has Bali, one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Many pristine islands, from Gili and Lombok to the Komodo island, form the Indonesian archipelago. The capital of Indonesia is Jakarta, a bustling Asian city.
SEASON: The climate in Indonesia is either dry or humid. The months from November to March form the country’s rainy season. If you want to enjoy the rains in Indonesia, November is the best time to go. The touristy season gets over by September and in November, the place has comparatively less visitors.
SRI LANKA
VISA: Sri Lanka offers Indian passport holders visa on arrival for a USD 20 (Rs 1,473) fee. On the tourist visa, you can stay in the island nation for up to 30 days.
Indian passport holders can travel visa-free to Thailand this December
Indian passport holders you have one more reason to head to Thailand this holiday season, as the country just waived off its visa on arrival fees.
In a move to increase traveller inflow in the country and boost tourism, Thailand’s cabinet recently approved a measure to waive off two months fees paid by visitors for visas on arrival.
The tropical island, which was favoured by tourists from around the world, had apparently witnessed a slump in tourism, especially from China.
In the new measure, tourist from 21 countries will not pay the visa fee of 2,000 baht (Rs 4,385) for the time period between December 1 and January 31 for travellers.
The countries who can take advantage of this waiver are India, China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Andora, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
However, the duration of stay in the country will remain fixed at 15 days.
The Thai government is expecting the visa-on-arrival fee waiver to bump up tourism by at least 30 percent.
The drop in one of the most popular tourist destination of South East Asia came earlier this year, after a boat accident in July killed over 40 Chinese tourists in Phuket.
Also, the island was struck by an ecological imbalance because of over-tourism. Now it seems like the country which was once overburdened by tourists, is now trying to woo them back.
